The best-known attempt so far to lure the e-sports masses to poker seems to be over.
According to a Poker Industry PRO report ($) last week, PokerStars will end its power-up game soon.
While a link on the PokerStars website indicates that the game is still live, a PokerStars representative confirmed the report from Poker Industry PRO.
“PokerStars has decided to remove the [Power Up] game from the poker client,” the statement said.
Power Up is a 3-handed game with similarity to Hearthstone.
More games planned?
While Power Up users may be unhappy that it will soon disappear from the client, those players looking for the next new game will soon receive welcome news from the world’s leading online poker operator.
Another report from PRO ($) indicated that two new games are planned: Tempest Hold’em and Deep Water Hold’em.
No details about the games are known yet, except that they will be offered for “a limited period”.
