The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will finally close its doors at the start of construction in February 2020. The plan was that the cult resort bought by the Virgin Group in February 2018 would be open during the renovation work or only closed for 4 months.
But now Richard “Boz” Bozworthy, Hospitality President and CEO of the operating company Jonathan Charles Hospitality, has said that the complex will remain completely closed from the start of construction. Otherwise, the construction work would not be efficient, nor would the service for the guests be carried out to the extent that they deserve it.
Reopening before January 2024
Before January 2024 the Hotel & Casino will be open again, but then under the name “Virgin Hotels Las Vegas”. How the new owner will deal with the heritage of Hard Rock is still open. Virgin boss Richard Branson said only that the Hard Rock in Las Vegas is part of the story, and Virgin now bears the responsibility to take care of it. – Hard Rock is one, if not THE location in Vegas where tourists pilgrimage to get their hands on the coveted collectors’ items with the Hard Rock logo.
Conversion and rebranding may already be finished in October 2020.
Not only poker players recognize the miscalculation: 8 months from February 2020 meant that from October 2020 the complex would already be reopened. Bozworthy explains that it could well be that they will be ready in October, but that reconstruction measures are always an imperfect process. – After all, for tourists, music lovers and poker players, everything will remain the same until February 2020.
Surely good news! Those who are still missing a collector’s cup or something similar from Hard Rock Las Vegas should hurry and pay one last visit to the famous complex in the next six months.
