Pedro Rodriguez has ‘fallen on his feet’ in Rome. The Canarian has scored three goals -all in Serie A– and two assists in the nine matches he has played. In the victory against Fiorentina (2-0) he was again decisive. Spinazzola opened the way for the success at 12′, and the former Chelsea and Barcelona player closed the scoreboard in the 70′.
The 1-0 was curious. It came from a ball from Mirante that Spinazzola picked up in the middle of the pitch and immediately put the ball straight into Dragowski’s goal. He remembered Martin Caceres and scored.
Pedro’s goal was more ‘simple’. Dzeko filtered a pass into the slot for Mkhitaryan, and the Armenian served up the ‘pass of death’ for the 33-year-old Canarian to score at will. His three goals make him the second top scorer of Roma in the League. Only Veretout (4) surpasses him.
The match, like all Roma matches, had a Spanish accent. Pedro was a starter, and Carles Pérez replaced him in the 72nd minute. Pau López, Mayoral and Gonzalo Villar lived the whole match from the bench. In the Fiorentina, both Callejón and Pol Lirola played at the start. Borja Valero, on the other hand, was dismissed due to injury.
The victory confirms the improvement of Paulo Fonseca’s Roma, who is in seventh place with 11 points. Fiorentina, on the other hand, fell to eleventh place with 7 points. As if that wasn’t enough, they lost the Argentinean Lucas Martínez Quarta, who saw the red in 89′.
