FC Arsenal owner Kroenke joins CoD league

For a long time, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment was in conversation with Echo Fox to join the American LCS in League of Legends. Now that Riot Games have rejected the deal, the sports giant, which owns FC Arsenal or L.A. Rams, will enter the upcoming Call of Duty League.

The upcoming Call of Duty League wins several recruiters in a row. Activision Blizzard has announced that among them are Misfits Gaming and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. The two companies have each acquired a slot in the franchise league. The new franchise model replaces the previous Call of Duty league format and is scheduled to start in 2020.

25 million US dollars for slot

With Misfits Gaming and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the number of slots acquired so far rises to nine. Both companies are said to have paid 25 million dollars for the slot. Misfits Gaming secured the Florida slot, while Kroenke got the Los Angeles slot. Los Angeles is an important market for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. They are currently building L.A. Rams’ new mega stadium, and the portfolio also includes the Denver Nuggets of the NBA and the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL. They also own the Los Angeles Gladiators of the Overwatch League.

Both ownership groups have a shared commitment to the growth of esports and building professional teams in their markets that home fans can be proud of and rally behind in the new city-based format.

Nine confirmed teams for Call of Duty League 2020

Besides Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Los Angeles has another team for the Call of Duty League. Previously, the Immortal Gaming Club secured a slot for Los Angeles. The other franchises are Atlanta Esports Ventures, Envy Gaming in Dallas, WISE Ventures in Minnesota, Sterling VC in New York, c0ntact Gaming in Paris and OverActive Media in Toronto.
