Furia, Liquid wins again in ESL One: Road to Rio

Furia Esports and Team Liquid recorded their second consecutive wins in Group B on April 25th in ESL One: Road to Rio – North America.
Furia Esports scored a 2:0 victory over Bad News Bears, and Team Liquid won the match with a 2:0 victory over MIBR. Team Envy secured a 2:0 victory over Yeah Gaming in the other match on Saturday.
The ESL One: Rio Major, a $2 million Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event, was originally scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro from May 11th-24th, but was postponed to November 9th-22nd due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Regional qualifiers for North America, South America and Europe began this week. The game in the Commonwealth of Independent States region begins on 30th April. The Asia and Oceania regions will start on 6th May.
Teams will compete in the online tournaments for a total of $255,000, as well as regional ladder points awarded for berths at ESL One: Rio Major.
The North American event consists of 12 teams divided into two groups for round-robin play consisting of best-of-three games. The winner of each group advances to the semi-finals of the playoffs, with the runners-up and third-placed teams reaching the quarter-finals.
All playoff matches are best-of-three.
The North American champion will receive 400 Pro Tour points and $18,000 from the $60,000 prize pool. The runner-up will receive 285 Pro Tour points and $13,000 US.
The two groups will play alternately until May 3rd. The playoffs are expected to end on 10th May.
On April 25th, Furia Esports sent Bad News Bears after a 16:12 victory at Inferno and a 16:8 victory at Mirage.
Team Liquid recorded a 16-12 win in Dust II and a 16-13 win in Inferno to eliminate MIBR. Team Envy had a much easier time against Yeah Gaming and scored a 16-2 victory over Mirage and Nuke.
