Last week, Casino Barcelona organized the premiere of the partypoker Grand Prix.
A €500,000 prize pool was guaranteed for a buy-in of just €200+€20. Since only 1,621 entries were paid in the end, there was an enormous overlay, actually very unusual for the otherwise so well attended events at the Casino Barcelona.
Due to the WSOPE at the King’s Resort, a CEP event of PokerStars in Marbella and probably also due to the riots of the last weeks in Barcelona, considerably fewer players than expected came to the Casino Barcelona.
Since the guaranteed sum was not reached, the winner could look forward to €90,000 and the partypoker Grand Prix Barcelona title. But when only 6 players were left at the final table, they agreed on a deal. After the deal was negotiated, they decided to play out the remaining €9,000.
The Austrian Mirza Meskic landed on place 5, for this he received a proud €41,310. The title and prize money of €44,380 went to the Swiss Andrea Roner, the runner-up Jerome Regaldo had the most chips at the time of the deal, so he finally took home the most prize money with €47,880.
Here are the payouts after the deal:
Place Name Prize money
1 Andrea Roner €44.380
2 Jerome Shelf €47.880
3 Jurgen Louwerse €34,080
4 Stephane Staar €40.330
5 Mirza Meskic €41,310
6 Filippo Lazzaretto €44.500
