SK Gaming Prime loses the finals

At the European Masters, Europe’s greatest young talents compete against each other in the League of Legends. In the final SK Gaming Prime competed against Misfits Premier in Leicester.

Misfits Premier won the European Masters 2019. With the title, the team crowns itself to the strongest European team beyond the LEC. The representatives of La Ligue Française left little doubt of their absolute superiority, especially in the knockout phase.

In the final, Misfits Premier met the German representative SK Gaming Prime from the Premier Tour, the league for teams from the DACH region. Both participants of the final match thus represented junior teams of the LEC teams Misfits Gaming and SK Gaming. A clear sign that the project of promoting young talent is being consistently pursued.

For the nineteen-year-old Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov, Midlaner for Misfits Premier, the EU Masters could have been the big breakthrough. It often seemed as if the Norwegian could win the matches almost on his own. Of course, Misfits Premier also convinced as a team, with a mix of junior and more experienced players.

In the quarter-finals Misfits Premier first eliminated BIG, the champion of the DACH region, with 2:1. Then the team beat the MAD Lions, who had to play without one of their best players, Pavle “Yoppa” Kostić (20), due to Visa problems.

In the grand final against SK Gaming Prime, the Misfits Premier then again made short work of it. With a fast and clear 3:0, the German team, which also had to qualify via the play-in phase, was relegated to second place. German fans can still be happy because youngster of Misfits Premier is the German Patrick “Obsess” Engelmann (21).

Now all eyes in the European League of Legends scene are on the international Mid-Season Invitational, which starts on May 1st in Vietnam. G2 Esports Europe will be represented there and will play Korean champions SK Telecom T1 in the opening match of the group phase on 10 May.
