For the “Hearthstone” pros, last weekend in Las Vegas it was half a million dollars. Hypno von Lausanne eSports just missed the big coup.
At the final of the Swisscom Hero League at the end of May, Hypno beat StrikeReaper. In return, the ambitious “Hearthstone” player has now taken a big and important step in the Masters Tour Las Vegas. He was the only European to qualify for the final day, which was about the really lucrative prize money.
On Sunday he even started into the final round with a victory, but then lost the warrior duel against Gallon and ended up in the hopeful round, where he met the top American player and streamer dog. Individual decisions were perhaps not ideal in this duel, and luck wasn’t necessarily on the Lausanne side either, which is why it was enough to finish 5th and prize money of over 16,000 dollars.
The journey continues
Even though he didn’t make it to the podium and had no chance to win up to 100,000 dollars, Hypno was still extremely satisfied with his trip to the Nevada desert. “It’s incredible. I still can’t believe it. I’m very proud of this trip and that I made Switzerland and Lausanne Esports famous on this level,” he said “20 minutes”.
He attributes the fact that Hypno was able to get this far to his deck of cards, which also made a big difference thanks to his personal touch. He is also proud of how well he managed to stay focused and calm.
Time to rest on his laurels does not remain much. Hypno is already qualified for the next Masters Tour in Seoul. There, he wants to confirm his grandiose performance to get a place in the Grand Masters League in the future – only the best players meet regularly.
