USA: Lotto player cracks Powerball jackpot

A lottery player in the USA has cracked the jackpot of the Powerball lottery filled with more than 140 million dollars. Last Saturday’s draw brought the lucky New Yorker a win of exactly $148 million, thanks to “6 Corners”, according to the lottery operator.

The owner of the ticket with six correct numbers can now choose whether to pay the sum in instalments over 29 years. If the prize is to be paid immediately, the sum shrinks to “floppy” 105.6 million dollars.

At the next draw on Wednesday (23.08.2019) the Powerball jackpot will again be at the starting amount of 40 million dollars. The US record profit of 1.586 billion dollars was almost four years ago – also at Powerball.
