League of Legends: Clash returns!

On December 7th and 8th, League of Legends will bring the tournament mode “Clash” back to the Summoner’s Rift as a Global Beta.
Since December 2017, Clash has appeared again and again in the LoL Launcher to give players of all skill levels a real competitive experience – in a knockout bracket, and eight teams fight for rewards and a trophy. However, this usually only succeeded more badly than right. Many bugs, connection problems and date shifts tore at the nerves of the summoners. At the last test this September, however, the mode proved to be stable for the first time. And from now on it should become an integral part of League of Legends in a two-week rhythm.
When do I need how much time for Clash?
The match day is Saturday and Sunday. After the registration, you and your four players must be logged in in time for the confirmation phase at 7 pm. You will then play knockout matches against other teams, starting in the quarter-finals. So there will be a maximum of three games per evening.
If you win on Saturday, you can play for even better rewards on Sunday, and the tournament tree remains the same. But even if you lose or don’t have time, it’s not over yet: You can also participate again/for the first time on Sunday.
How do I register for a clash?
If you have a clash on the weekend, you can register for it as early as Monday. Anyone can create a team.
What criteria do you have to meet to participate?
You need a League account with at least level 30, where you have completed the ranking games and verified the account via SMS. Riot wants to make life difficult for the Smurfers, very good players, who want to get their money’s worth in lower ranks. Last but not least, each of you must buy at least one ticket to participate.
These are available in the shop, for completing missions or as a gift from a fellow player. If you activate more tickets or buy a premium ticket, your rewards will be better at the end of the tournament. Tip: Go to the Clash website and complete the tutorial to get a free ticket within three minutes.
How exactly does the tournament work?
After the confirmation phase, you’ll be taken to the game observation section, where you can find out more about the players of your next opponent. You’ll see the current ranks, favourite champions and players’ KDAs. This will help you develop a strategy and make the right decisions when selecting winners. It’s like playing professional eSports games: There are two ban phases and two pick phases.
Riot intervenes in the course of the game after 60 minutes so that the games don’t last too long. Towers become weaker, and the game ends automatically after 70 minutes. If you return victorious from the Rift, it’s straight to the next match – until the final!
What can I win?
You can take home up to three different prizes. If you decide on a bracket, you will receive a trophy, which will float above the nexus for two weeks for each game and will be permanently displayed on your profile. In the current beta, there are summoner symbols instead of the cup. Depending on your class and the tickets you use, you can also collect victory points.
With these, you can unlock banners, which are also displayed on the profile and in the gap. You’ll also get a ball or capsule guaranteed – no matter how far you’ve come. The content will depend on your tickets and your score.
