It is the largest video games fair in Europe, if not in the whole world: gamescom.
Once again, Koelnmesse is inviting the world-famous city in the Ruhr region to try out, view and generally marvel at the latest and most exciting video games.
There will also be plenty to see and do when it comes to eSports at the fair: The ESL once again offers a colourful supporting programme on its stage, with numerous national and international stars of the scene.
But the participating companies will also be inviting visitors to take part in some of the eSports adventures away from the big names in the industry. Among other things, the “School of Games bm-bildung in medienberufen GmbH” in Cologne offers its own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Tournament, which will take place on Wednesday at 9:30 am in Hall 10.2 Stand C031 D035.
Just a few hours later, the extremely popular MOBA game “League of Legends” will also be offered at the same stand. This tournament starts at noon.
Electronics retailer MediaMarkt is also inviting the inclined eSports fans to the console. In Hall 10.1, fans of the popular NFL simulation Madden will be able to compete against each other and find out which gamer is the most successful in touchdowns.
The fair will be open for all private visitors Wednesday and Thursday 10 am-8 pm and Friday as well as Saturday 9 am-8 pm
Only the gamescom city festival, which takes place parallel in downtown Cologne and offers visitors music, street food and games, will last until Sunday.
