E-Sport: “World Cup title is the big goal”

Dylan “DullenMIKE” Neuhausen talks about the BFV eClub Championship and the FeWC in an interview.

DYLAN, TOGETHER WITH BENEDIKT “BENECR7X” BAUER, WHO PLAYS FOR THE EACADEMY OF THE VFL WOLFSBURG, YOU TOOK PART IN THE GRAND FINAL OF THE BFV ECLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. BUT YOU ARE ALREADY SURPRISINGLY ELIMINATED IN THE SEMI-FINALS. WHAT WAS THE REASON?

We didn’t really make it to our game and also missed a penalty kick to the important 1:0, which would probably have been a preliminary decision. Nevertheless, we should have played better, especially after it went so well for us in the group phase.

HOW DID YOU COPE WITH THE ATMOSPHERE ON THE GROUND AT THE LANDSHUT FOOTBALL MATCH? YOU WERE THE ABSOLUTE TOP FAVOURITES FOR THE TITLE. ON TOP OF THAT, YOUR SEMI-FINAL OPPONENTS WERE ACCOMPANIED BY ATSV PIRKENSEE-PONHOLZ WITH ALMOST 30 PLAYERS.

For me, it was the first time that I played live in front of so many spectators. There’s a different feeling than playing over the internet in front of 50,000 spectators. The fact that our opponents had very good support was certainly also a factor for the fact that they came so far. One of them was even verified, which makes him a very good player.

WILL WE SEE YOU AGAIN IN THE NEXT EDITION OF THE BFV ECLUB CHAMPIONSHIP?

Should there be a repeat of the BFV eClub Championship, we will most likely participate again because the organization and the system are very good.

WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL GOALS FOR THE SEASON FINALE IN THE FIFA GLOBAL SERIES?

The playoffs are due in a week. I am currently preparing myself for this with training matches against other professionals and therefore see myself well prepared. However, my main focus is, of course on the FeWC, which takes place in August. Of course, the World Championship title is the big goal, even if it won’t be easy with the strong competition. It will mainly depend on the day’s form, both for my opponents and for me.

A FEW WEEKS AGO, EA SPORTS ANNOUNCED THE “VOLTA” GAME MODE, WHICH IS VERY REMINISCENT OF FIFA STREET. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I enjoyed playing FIFA Street 4, especially the Story Mode, a lot, which is why I was very pleased with the announcement of “Volta” and the corresponding Story Mode. I think it’s a bit of a shame that the mode isn’t played according to the Pro Club principle, where each player only controls one actor in the game. Nevertheless, I’m really looking forward to this alternative to the FIFA Ultimate Team mode.
