Liverpool wins seven-gate thriller – Suárez saves Barca

Liverpool FC, the undisputed leaders in their home Premier League, have been struggling to celebrate their first victory in the Champions League.

The defending champion around team manager Jürgen Klopp won 4:3 (3:1) against the strong Austrian serial champion FC Salzburg after a 3-0 lead. The Reds had lost the first group game two weeks ago with the SSC Naples 0:2.

In the table, Liverpool equalled Salzburg on points (three each). At the top is Naples with four points, who did not exceed 0:0 in the early game in Genk.

Barcelona escape with a black eye

FC Barcelona also made their first triumvirate in the premier class this season. In Leipzig’s Group G, Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg won 3-1 (1-0) against Benfica Lisbon, and with four points are level on points with Olympique Lyon.

Salah shoots Liverpool to victory

Liverpool started at home Anfield Road like the fire department.
