As a Swiss League of Legends connoisseur, you certainly haven’t missed a transfer in recent months. Toplaner Brian “Bando” Ferrando has landed with the big organisation Fnatic. An interview.
Julio : So, Brian, did you ever expect to land at Fnatic Rising?
Bando : No way! If you know me, you know that I had already graduated with a professional career. I was already enrolled for a new school year, and my “new life” was supposed to start.
Yes and voila, now we are here, the English structure announced the signature of the contract at the beginning of August. A surprise for many!
Were the negotiations difficult?
Not really, I was contacted by Fnatic a few months ago, but it didn’t want to be at that time for various reasons. This time we say that I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. Also, Nji, one of my former teammates, is also on the team, which made the decision easier.
So you’ve come a long way, can you tell us the story a little?
Sure, no problems, because it’s something that can happen anywhere in eSports. I was part of the LDLC team, and the organisation decided to send me to the bench. Then I spent some time without a team or structure and decided to go back to school.
Do you think that it had a negative influence on your career that you played in many different teams in the past years?
Not really… I was mostly a “pick-up” for a short time, so I don’t think that mattered. Imagine you have the opportunity to gain experience in many different teams while still staying pretty free. For me, I was involved in three orgas: GamsersOrigin, LDLC and now Fnatic.
People like to accuse you of being “salty” like you were with LDLC. What do you think?
Oh, that’s never really meant bad. I think everyone likes to “trolled” a little bit sometimes, without any evil intent behind it. It makes people talk and brings a little atmosphere to the scene. With LDLC, maybe I pushed it a bit to the extreme because they gave me. But it’s all good.
Now Fnatic has arrived in a good atmosphere, do you think you’ll stay a little longer?
We’ll see then, and I have a contract until the end of the year. After that, all doors are open, abroad or even in France. We still have a few competitions ahead of us, for example, Katowice, so I still have a little time to see how it goes. Anyway, I’ve found new motivation, and I’m ready to show what I’m made of!
