Cristiano Ronaldo no longer plays at Juventus Turin – at least at FIFA 20.
As a game manufacturer, EA Sports announced on Tuesday, the partnership with the Italian football record champion ended on June 30th, so that Juve will no longer be represented in the new version of the football simulation. Instead, the team will run under the name Piemonte Calcio. FIFA 20 will be released on September 27th.
The reason is an exclusive partnership between Juventus and Japanese EA rival Konami, who produces the game Pro Evolution Soccer. The rights to the club’s name, coat of arms, jerseys and stadium are owned by the Japanese only. As EA Sports announced, the players remain unaffected by the new deal.
FIFA fans will also be able to continue playing with Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. In Germany, Bayern Munich recently announced a partnership with Konami, but in contrast to Juve, the Munich team remains fully represented in FIFA.
