The release of a digital casino in GTA Online brought the highest player level since the release of the multiplayer mode.
On July 23rd, Rockstar Games released a new casino DLC for GTA Online, which was not only banned in 53 countries but also set a new player record in GTA 5 multiplayer mode: As many players as since the Diamond Casino & Resort Update have never played at the same time since the release.
The information was sent to the Hollywood reporter website by Rockstar Games itself. However, the publisher and developer do not give exact figures. He only states that the number of daily and weekly active players is the highest since the launch of GTA Online in October 2013.
What’s in the Casino DLC?
The free expansion lets you enter the Diamond Casino, which has existed in the gaming world since its launch. Previously, however, there was only an “Open soon” sign at the entrance. There are several new story-based co-op missions and, of course, games of chance such as Blackjack and Poker. For betting purposes, you can use chips that you can buy for GTA dollars. You can not only earn in-game chips but also buy them for real money.
To gain access to the casino at all, you must purchase a Standard or VIP in-game membership. The former gives you access to a small part of the casino and its garage, where you can park a car. But it’s VIP membership that gives you full access to the entire building and a penthouse that you can customize to your liking. The missions mentioned above can only be played as VIPs.
That’s what the story missions are about: The six cooperative missions are part of a mini-story around the casino. Its owner, Tao Cheng, is in conflict with a Texas oil tycoon. Complete all the missions as a host, and you’ll get a special car as a reward.
Casino Work: In addition to the co-op missions, Agatha Baker is a new client who lets you complete smaller tasks. These range from escort missions to intimidating judges.
Rockstar’s content updates for GTA focus on online mode. Originally, however, there should have been an expansion for the singleplayer mode in which you would have fought zombies in Los Santos. Information also came to light on how the casino now opened in GTA Online would have originally played a role in a singleplayer DLC.
