What Is a Casino Host ?

A Casino Host is a member of staff whose work is to ensure that the guests will have only the best casino gaming experience. Their job is to deliver casino services to keep all of their clients happy. In most of the luxurious casinos, a Casino Host is assigned to take care of their high-roller guests. This is in order to create better relationships with them – turning them into one of the casino’s loyal patrons.

They also need to work closely with the Casino Manager as they will be providing services to the VIPs. They are also assigned to provide complementary services or ‘comps’ like meals or a free hotel room for their wealthy guests.

Given the role of a Casino Host, this employee will work closely with the casino’s marketing department, in order to identify their key players and other guests. They will identify either those who have been known to be high-rollers or those who have the potential to become one in the future.

To ensure not to lose these prospective patrons, it is the job of a Casino Host to ensure that they have worthwhile casino experiences. This is done by giving them access to more personalised services. A good host will be able to form a long-term relationship with the VIPs that will keep them returning and spending more money in their casino.

Casino Hosts are always expected to provide customer services of the highest standards. One of their important roles is to offer casino products and complimentary services, also known as ‘comps’. It is their job to ensure that their patrons are well complemented whether with the access to their VIP lounges, free hotel room, games or even a free meal. If not, guests may go to other casinos for the said ‘comp’ services – a situation that the casino can’t afford to happen.

Before giving ‘comps’ to guests, the Casino Host needs to check and justify it with the Casino Manager. It is part of the process to inform first the Manager with the ‘comp’ being requested by the guest before granting it. If ever they lose a guest due to him/her not being adequately complimented, then the Host will need to do a lot of explaining to the superiors. To be a Casino Host one must deal well with many crucial situations. A simple ‘comp’ may make or break the relationship that the casino is building with their high-rollers.
