First team for handicapped gamers

PENTA and BCON are working together to offer eSportsmen with handicaps new possibilities. As part of the partnership, two new players will be signed.

Under the name PENTA.BCON, a new PENTA unit, enters the digital battlefields.

The name PENTA.BCON is based on the scene size PENTA, which has been represented in sports for years, as well as on the Gaming-Wearable BCON, which has recently been awarded the German Computer Game Prize.

The portable device supplements the input with mouse and keyboard for more interaction in the game. For players with a handicap, the new controller also serves as a technical aid to compensate for physical limitations.

For PENTA.BCON’s Team Director Dennis H.-Schulz a perfect symbiosis: “Esport and gaming take place today in all parts of society, including people with disabilities. PENTA.BCON is lived inclusion.”

With Dennis “Wheely” Winkens and Daniel “Skrelldorn” Ulrich the team already has two top-class players under contract. Both athletes have been training with the BCON for quite some time.

While Ulrich thus compensates for a malformation of the right arm, Winkens uses the device on his head – the only part of his body he can still move after an accident. “Everything is just a matter of the head,” explains Winkens.

eSportspeople with disabilities have many options

PENTA.BCON gives performance-oriented players with handicaps the chance to become part of this unique team under the professional management of PENTA.

But also other means can make gambling easier for players with handicaps.

Fortnite, for example, has the function to display sounds like steps on the screen.

For other gamers, Xbox has developed the “Adaptive Controller” (XAC), which can be operated without fully trained hands and arms.

In addition to being equipped with a BCON, the new team member can look forward to an exclusive appearance at the upcoming gamescom.

Also, PENTA.BCON will present itself in regular Apex Legends tournaments – without the desire for special treatment.
