Origens Nukeduck dissatisfied after defeating in LEC finals

A final defeat in record time is something you first have to cope with. With 0:3 Origen lost in the final of the LEC Spring Split to the table leader G2 Esports. Origens Mid-Laner Nukeduck is hardly satisfied but looks to the future.

Rotterdam (dpa) – After a second place at the LEC Spring Split, Origen Mid-Lanager Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm (22) is dissatisfied with the result. “With their strategies, they simply played us off”, Holm said after the defeat against G2 Esports in an interview with “The Shotcaller”.

The opponents had prepared perfectly for the final. “In addition, all members of G2 Esports are damn good players,” Nukeduck said. The team, based in Denmark, lost in record time to the season’s leading G2 team with a 3-0 lead in the final of the European premier league in League of Legends (LEC).

The day before, Origen had played Fnatic in the semi-final. There, the team managed to pass 3-1 but had to reveal some strategies they had held back until then.

“I had a consultative role in putting our team together and I really like it,” said Nukeduck. “When we got every player I counted on, I thought we had a good chance of winning the split. So, of course, I’m not happy with second place.”

Nevertheless, Origen qualified for the Rift Rivals 2019 tournament by finishing second. In addition to Origen, G2 Esports and Fnatic will compete for Europe against the North American representatives Team Liquid, TSM, and Cloud9. For Holm, who has been on the road as a professional since 2011, this is the first international competition in almost five years.

Holm is especially looking forward to the duels in the Midlane. “Bjergsen, Jensen, and even Nisqy, Europe’s Midlaners are reunited.” All Midlanders of the six teams competing in the Rift Rivals 2019 come from Europe. Four Danes will compete, including Holm, a Belgian and a Slovenian.

First of all, the Mid-Season Invitational will take place in the LoL scene from the beginning to the middle of May, at which G2 Esports Europe will be represented as regional champion. There Holm stands behind the actual competitor and hopes for a successful result. After the Rift Rivals in the last week of May, the summer season starts for all teams at the beginning of June.
