eSports is a school sport in the USA

By the end of 2018, some schools had already taken the plunge and recognized eSports as a sport in its own right. Now more high schools have followed suit.

By the end of 2018, a considerable number of schools had already recognized eSports as a legitimate sport. In the meantime, further training centers have been added and are expanding the subject accordingly.
The news channel CNN was recently invited to an event or digital competition between two schools in Atlanta. Both institutions were able to draw on an eSports Arena that was completed in February and specially designed for such activities.
The third person Moba “Smite” was played by developer Hi-Rez. The title is one of the three games accepted by the schools that are used in a corresponding teaching unit.

The participating institutions are also integrated into real seasons, with playoffs and final games at the end of the season. With this, the responsible persons want to prepare the participating students and players for a possible career in the world of eSports, in which most similar structures prevail or exist.

Universities are also in the eSports hype

In addition to several high schools, universities also dealt with the topic of eSports. Among others, New York University and the University of California, Irvine, offer their own scholarships in the field of eSports.
The reason for this step might not only be the increased interest of adolescents or adults but financially the topic is quite interesting for any kind of company.
According to a study by the US-American research company Newzoo, the industry’s turnover is expected to rise to up to one billion US dollars in 2019.
