Yesterday, the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague 2019 saw a €26,000 Platinum Pass.
In addition to day 2 at the €5,300 Main Event, the chance to win the coveted Platinum Pass attracted several players. At 11:30 am the starting shot was fired for the 60 players who qualified online for the tournament.
Many well-known players like Dietrich Fast, Davidi Kitai and Steven van Zadelhof tried their luck. Mihai Manole was also there, trying to get his second Platinum Pass at the EPT in Prague.
Crazy Pineapple Poker is a variant of Pineapple Poker that combines elements from Omaha and Texas Hold’em. Players start the hand with three hole cards, as in standard pineapple, but do not have to fold any of the cards before the flop. After the flop betting round, they must select one of the three-hole cards they wish to deal.
None of the big names made it to the next round. In the end, it was 31-year-old Russian Evgenii Shibaldin (short stack from day 2) who won, and a ticket to the PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC) 2020. He may not have had much success in the Main Event, but he’s already looking forward to his trip to Barcelona.
Shibaldin said about a translator: “This is my first tournament with such a buy-in and I’m happy to have the opportunity to participate.”
This will continue today in Prague:
