As part of gamescom 2019, the grand finale of the ESL Summer Championship was held in Counter-Strike Global Offensive on Thursday, August 22nd.
Former champion ALTERNATE aTTaX and runner-up Sprout had to compete against each other. It was about prize money of 12.000 Euro, the coveted cup and a qualification for the IBC 2019 Esports Showcase, and there it is against the Spanish champion OFFSET eSports to compete – here are 10.000 Euro prize money.
The ESL semi-final had aTTaX won 2:0 against Expert Esports and Sprout also beat Unicorns of Love 2:0. In the final best-of-3, Kressy (aTTaX) scored the decisive goal on Thursday at the gamescom. It was more like two because with his last volley he eliminated the last two Sprout players mirbit and faveN — a pretty glorious move. So aTTaX could defend the championship title and continue to prove itself as the best German CS:GO, team. It’s also the first team to win the title twice.
