LoL: G2 Esports Wins Mid-Season Invitational

G2 Esports was Europe’s hopefuls at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), the League of Legends tournament held its grand final on 19 May and was peppered with the best teams in the world. As LEC Champion, G2 Esports was a special focus this year and did not disappoint.
G2 Esports made it. The team of the German coach Fabian ‘GrabbZ’ Lohmann played a great season and crowned it with the win of the Mid-Season Invitational 2019. In the final against Team Liquid from North America the team around captain Luka ‘Perkz’ Perkovi convinced with a clean 3:0. “We made it. We are the best team in the world,” twittered the team on Sunday evening and celebrated his success.
After all the team gets 400.000 Euro as champion in the club cash, the tournament was already a highlight due to the final constellation, because surprisingly world champion Invictus Gaming only made it to the semi-finals and lost with 1:3 against Team Liquid. G2 Esports had to kick SK Telecom T1 out of the tournament. The game went over the full distance and was won by G2 narrowly with 3:2. For the team from Europe, the victory in the second most important League of Legends tournament is a great success and proof of the good form in recent months.
