On the second day of the ESL Pro League Finals Playoffs the home team G2 Esports will play NRG Esports. Can the Americans remain undefeated without preparation and reach the final? Does mousesports have any chance of reaching the final in the matchup against Team Liquid?
Against the expectations of many fans, G2 beat FaZe in the quarter-finals. Now it’s on for the French team against NRG Esports, a team that hasn’t prepared for the event due to recent lineup changes. Can the duo of shox and KennyS once again rise to former glory and shoot G2 into the final? Statistically, it’s impossible for G2 to make it to the final. But especially the circumstances around the NRG-Lineup could give you a chance. On the other hand, the change at NRG is also the reason why the team has been so successful during the event so far.
Instead of the USA as the only in-game leader, the USA took the lead and showed faster and more open gameplay.
When it comes to mapping pool, it’s definitely interesting that both teams like to play Dust2, Nuke, Train and Overpass. It seems that both teams can do without Vertigo, while NRG likes to play Mirage and G2 Inferno.
In an excellent best-of-three, Team Liquid defeated Danish Titan Astralis in the quarter-finals.
Now it’s time for the US-Americans against the new, young lineup of mousesports with in-game leader Karrigan. As in the matchup against FaZe Clan, mouz statistically has no chance against the best team in the world. But maybe after the convincing victories against MiBR, HellRaisers and FaZe it is now time to look beyond the statistics. Despite all the improbabilities, mousesports is currently in the semi-finals of the ESL Pro League Finals and has not lost a single card. Meanwhile, Team Liquid had to fight their way through the lower bracket and defeated Astralis on Vertigo in the quarter-finals, a card that doesn’t really have a lot of validity.
So does mousesports have a chance against Team Liquid? No. Can we still hope for a win? Yes, mousesports has enough talented players to make it.
