The Arena World Championship Global Final has been part of BlizzCon for twelve years. The Mythic Dungeon International Final is only being held for the second time! Here we show you all known information about the annual highlight of the WoW sport.
BlizzCon 2019 will take place on November 1st and 2nd this year. This year we’ll be creating extra space on the fairground for additional attractions. BlizzCon has always had a special attraction for Esport fans of all genres. But not only connoisseurs of cultivated card game and real-time strategy game art will get their money’s worth: Blizzard has officially announced another two days of WoW Sports action (now available for €13.00). Not only will we be able to enjoy exciting arena matches, but we’ll also be able to look over the shoulders of the MDI “Créme de la Créme”.
Arena World Championship (AWC) Global Finals
In the global final of the Arena World Championship, a total of eight teams will be allowed to play for the coveted trophy as well as for fame and honor. Five teams from North America and Europe, one from China, one from the Asia-Pacific region and one from Latin America will qualify throughout the year.
At BlizzCon 2019, these eight teams will compete against each other in a double elimination system. For this final, more players in more seasonal cups than ever before have applied to participate in BlizzCon – we’re looking forward to lots of high-quality arena matches!
Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) Global Finals
At BlizzCon 2019, a total of six teams will battle it out for the MDI Global Finals Champion 2019 title and lots of prize money in a double knockout system.
Following the crowdfunding campaign in Dota 2 (The International), Blizzard will also support the prize money from toy sales at both tournaments. The contributions from sales will be halved and split between the two prize pools. How high the prize money will be in the end is not yet known.
