Apex Legends Global Series: eSports League to be launched in January

EA founds the Apex Legends Global Series and enters into eSport in 2020. The first qualifying tournaments will take place this month.
In the new year, Electronic Arts wants to break new ground with the Battle Royale shooter Apex Legends. The Apex Global Series shall serve as an entry into eSport. Since its release in February 2019, the game has been able to build up a stable player base and fight for its place alongside Fortnite and Playerunknowns Battlegrounds.
The Apex Global Series
In the newly created eSports League, 12 competitions will be held throughout the year. As with other games, these will be divided into different categories. In the first place, there are online tournaments in which every player can participate. Good performances will be rewarded with Apex Legends Global Series points, which will be used to qualify for live events.
The Challenger competition is designed to ensure a balanced representation of the different regions. Local talents can distinguish themselves here and earn a starting place at a major event.
Premier events are the next level of the league. Here, the winning squads from online tournaments and invited eSports teams to compete against each other. The competition is much tougher, and only the best teams succeed in qualifying for the highest league.
The major tournaments will be the highlight of the newly created Apex Legends Global Series. The world’s best players, who have been able to demonstrate their skills in previous competitions, will receive an invitation. Only one team can emerge victoriously and claim the title.
Any player can participate and qualify for the major tournaments.
A total of four major events will be held in 2020. In the first three tournaments, 300 players will compete in 100 teams of three. The fourth and final major is the Apex Legends Global Series Championship, to which only the 60 best teams in the world are invited. In the final and decisive match, the first Apex Legends World Champion will be crowned.

The qualifying tournaments for the first major will be held this month on 25th and 27th January 2020. If you’re interested in participating, you and your friends can register as a Three-Person Squad starting on January 11th. Use the Battlefy page of the series to register.
There you can also register for the Premier Event Qualifiers, which will be held on February 29th and March 2nd, 2023. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to participate in the first major at Esports Stadium Arlington in Texas from March 13th to 15th.
