Regarding online gambling, the act strives to regulate all types of interactive gaming. Most operators choose to apply for a license at the federal level. This allows for greater access to players. They also offer more gambling levels. The new gambling act focuses on protecting public order and preventing addictive behaviours. It also prevents underage gambling and avoiding fraud. Finally, Spanish citizens can use their rights and report unlawful casinos.

Establishments aiming to provide interactive gaming to Spain must follow the rules of their licenses. Firstly, they need to obtain general licenses for each gaming category. Then, they need singular licenses for specific gaming types within the categories.

This ensures online operators follow the rules and regulations of these licenses with every form of gambling. This applies to gaming software providers as well, giving the Gambling Act full control. The act only allows games that operate with a random number generating software. This eliminates the question of fairness directly from the game provider.
