It is considered good practice to determine what time a Poker game will end before it even begins. There are a few reasons why this is the case.

One reason is that it can benefit all players. It allows the players to set rules for themselves and stick to those rules. This shows the kind of discipline needed so that players don’t lose control of their gambling. Generally, the more disciplined a Poker player is, the less money they will lose.

It is not uncommon for players to want to quit when they know they are losing. This practice is referred to as a ‘stop loss’. When a player has lost the maximum they can afford to lose, they quit. As a result, players are not likely to incur debt from their gambling. In many cases, this helps players to avoid letting their anger cloud their judgment during a game.

Another reason Poker players have a quitting time is that it places a time limit on their game. Without this time limit, Poker games can be played for too long. Players are then able to avoid chasing a win they may never get.

However, players don’t always adhere to their own quitting time. If a player is on a winning streak, they are usually tempted to prolong the game. On the other hand, those playing a bad game may end it before their designated quitting time. This is often done when players consistently find themselves with cards they don’t want. They would rather quit the game early than lose more than they planned on.

In some cases, a Poker player wants to win a certain number of games. When they do, they often retire early. This allows them to quit playing while they are still winning. Many players choose to do this because it makes the game more satisfying for them.

Some people get confused by the term quitting time. They incorrectly assume a specific time must be referenced. The truth is that setting the quitting time means that players are strategic enough to know when to end a game. The most successful players have an uncanny ability to call for a quitting time at the right moment.
