What is Over/Under?

An Over/Under or Over-Under bet refers to a wager in which a sportsbook will predict a certain number for a statistic in a particular game which commonly combines the scores of two teams and the players wager that the actual number of the game will either be lower and higher than that given number.
This is also known as a common type of sports wager where the players bet below or above a set value like the total of the entire points earned or scored or it can be the margin of victory when the handicap is applied. Over-Under bets appear mostly in combat sports-betting. As an example, when players predict how many rounds that one bout can last.

Over/Under Explained

A common form of sportsbook betting is the over/under or over-under wager, which is a bet on whether the victory or the outcome is below or above the predicted margin. This could be on the total points in the sports match or on the position of a runner in a race. One of the common uses is said to be in football as well as other similar sports where two teams go head-to-head. In these types of match-ups, the odds are short either way, and any win will surely be profitable.

Players will predict whether the total points that were scored during the game will be under or over a certain value. These players can also place their over-under bet on the handicap spread or on the entire number of rounds in the tournament, fight or match.
This type of bet is also known as a dice-betting game; although this is rarely used nowadays. In this case, two dice are rolled and the players bet under or over the score of seven with even payouts on a certain win.

The game needs one player at least to bet against that person getting hold of the dice. Rolling a seven is a payout for players as well, especially if they opt to bet on this. The game is also widely known to be fast-paced but the wins are somewhat slow, and there’s no room for the house edge unless the payout for sevens is decreased from 4:1 down to 2:1. Therefore, it’s not common in casino play.
