What Is Monster ?

A ‘monster,’ in Poker refers to a skillful player. The word is an adjective that describes a strong player that is hard to beat. Sometimes, this word refers to a very aggressive hand or player, who wins easily or stakes large bets into the pot without much effort. The word ‘monster’ can also refer to a huge jackpot or pot.

The term ‘monster’, is used prevalently in casinos. However, it also refers to a huge move or bet, especially in Poker. Therefore, if a player places a ‘monster bet’ at the Roulette table (for instance, putting out a significant stack of chips on one number), it mean the player has made a big move. Furthermore, community jackpots and progressive jackpots that can easily multiply are referred to as ‘monster prices’ or ‘monster jackpots.’

Additionally, the word ‘monster’ could be used to describe a hand, a player, a game or even a price pot in Poker. For instance, a highly prestigious tournament that attracts highly respected contestants and awards great prizes, is described as a ‘Monster tournament.’ A pot can also be referred to as a ‘monster pot’ when it attracts large contributions, a high record of stakes from people entering into ‘all-in’ challenges and a well-renowned winner.

Likewise a pretty strong Poker hand with high chances of winning can also be referred to as a ‘Monster hand.’ A suitable example of a ‘monster hand’ is a Royal Flush, giving the player a tendency to play with greater risk, due to the sense of being unbeatable. Finally, a ‘monster’ also refers to any individual player that uses strategic means to engage in several or all the hands and still wins bets in the short run.
