What Is Clickety Click ?

Clickety Click refers to the slang term used when calling out the number sixty-six (66). This term, popularly heard in British Bingo halls, is also used in online Bingo websites. American Bingo games also adapted the term’s use.

Sometimes, to add some humour when announcing the Bingo numbers, some Bingo-callers would use this slang, followed by the number. For example, the Caller would call out, “Clickety Click, 66”!

From the numbers 1 to 90, the Caller will draw or randomly select and then call the number. The players should mark off the number that is called, from their ticket. If the Bingo Caller shouts, “Clickety Click, 66”, and the player’s ticket has 66 on it, he should mark it off.

The exact origin and coinage of the slang term, ‘Clickety-Click’, are unknown. It is believed that the term was created because of the repetition of sounds among words or for its assonance. This term can be heard in Bingo halls and now also in online Bingo games.
