A cheque is a form of documentation that can order a particular bank to pay, or issue a specific amount of cash to the person to whom it has been issued. The money will come from the person’s account who issued the said document. The drawer or the issuer of the cheque has a transaction account from that bank where his money is.

Also known as a Bank Draft, this document is popularly used for a demand payment option and should be processed in person. Today, the popularity of this document has decreased since the advance in hassle-free online banking options.

Explained

Even if its use has since taken the back seat, cheques are greatly welcomed by various casinos. These gaming establishments continue to accept this document to better fund online accounts. Even if you have already switched to becoming an online player, it’s still okay to issue a cheque to your favourite casino. There are other reasons why some people choose the virtual payment option over issuing a traditional cheque.

Unlike its modern counterpart, a cheque is always at risk of being stolen, lost or worse; altered. While on the other hand, the modern payment option can be digitally encrypted and has lower risks of being altered. That’s all well, however those people have their reasons for preferring the traditional banking method. With a cheque, you don’t need to submit your debit or credit card information or any of your information to the casino.

If you need to fund your account at an online casino and are from the United States, you should know that you have limited options. In America, casino winnings are issued in cheques. Whether you needed to fund or withdraw your winnings, the process of cashing a cheque usually take ten or more days.

That’s the downside of using cheques. Although, luckily now most have access to modern banking methods for online casino gaming. Various online casinos accept MasterCards and Visa Debit and Credit Cards. They also accept payments options from BitCoin, eWire, American Express, PayPal and many more.

Those options are globally accepted, but there are also other online casinos that are country-specific. Before making any payment, it’s always best to check your options first with your casino.
