Keene signed with an agent Thursday, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

It's been expected since late-March that Keen would not be heading back to the college ranks since he declared for the draft while also not initially hiring an agent. After roughly one month of the pre-draft process, Keene has decided to officially sign on with an agent, which officially ends his collegiate career and sparks his professional one. He was the nation's leading scorer in 2016-17, averaging 30.0 points per game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene officially announced in a statement Tuesday that he plans to leave Central Michigan and pursue a professional career.

Keene didn't explicitly mention that he would hire an agent, but the 5-foot-9 point guard nonetheless seems to be closing the door on a return to college following an electrifying junior season with the Chippewas. The Youngstown State transfer led the nation in scoring with 30.0 points per game, highlighted by a 50-point performance Jan. 21 against Miami (Ohio), which marked the first time any Division 1 player had achieved the feat since 2013. Keene's lack of size will be his biggest hurdle to overcome at the next level, but his natural scoring ability could make him a mainstay on an NBA second unit. If Keene fails to hear his name called in the 2017 NBA Draft, he would likely begin his professional career in the D-League or internationally.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene scored 41 points (15.32 FG, 9-17 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in the loss to Kent State on Monday in the MAC tournament. He added five assists and four rebounds.

Keene closed his season with 78 points in his final two games to push his scoring average up to 29.96875, which can be rounded up to 30 points per game. He will bring his scoring exploits back to the Chippewas next season, but will hope to win more games. CMU lost its last eight games and finished at 16-16.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene scored 37 points (13-21 FG, 4-15 3Pt, 9-12 FT) with five rebounds and five assists in the loss to Western Michigan on Friday.

The Chippewas dropped their last seven games, but Keene averaged 26.0 points over the streak. The 5-9 junior averaged 29.6 points and fell just short of becoming the first college player to average 30.0 points since 1996-97. CMU will play in the first round of the MAC tournament on Monday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene scored 40 points (14-36 FG, 6-20 3Pt, 6-8 FT) in the overtime loss to Ball State on Saturday.

Keene took advantage of the extra period to put up a season-high 36 shots. He and fellow guard Braylong Rayson combined for 74 points, but it was not enough to help the Chippewas snap a three-game losing streak. Keene had his sixth 40-point game and is leading the country at 30.2 points. If he is able to average 30 points, he would be the first player to hit that mark since Charles Jones of Long Island in 1996-97.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene was held to a season-low 12 points in Saturday's loss to Miami (OH). He added eight assists and seven rebounds, but he also committed six turnovers.

The RedHawks geared up to slow down the nation's leading scorer and were extremely effective in doing so. Keene was just 5-of-17 from the field, including 2-of-10 from 3-point range and he did not get to the foul line once. Prior to Saturday's dud, Keene hadn't scored less than 24 points since Jan. 13, a range of seven games. Keene and the Chippewas will look to bounce back Tuesday against Buffalo.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene led Central Michigan with 41 points (15-25 FG, 9-18 3Pt, 2-3 FT) with five rebounds and three assists in the win over Ohio on Tuesday.

Keene has scored 35 points or more in four of his last six games and has helped the Chippewas win five games in that span. He scored 41 for the second time in 10 days. Keene is running away with the nation's scoring title with 30.7 points per game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Keene put up 35 points (14-28 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 3-3 FT) with six assists, five rebounds, and three steals in the win over Western Michigan on Friday.

Keene has scored at least 20 points in eight straight games. The nation's leading scorer is averaging 30.2 points and the Chippewas have won four of their last five. Central Michigan could make a run for a nice seed in the MAC tournament, so we could see Keene in a postseason tournament.
